Jeanne Kennedy Crosby, D.C.: What's Your Problem?

Correcting Hormone Imbalance Naturally

(Jeanne Kennedy Crosby D.C.)
Hormones are chemical agents that precede or initiate some kind of physiologic change. They are involved in regulating digestion, growth, reproduction, metabolism, and the immune system. Some hormones that people commonly have problems with are insulin, thyroid hormone (thyroxin), cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Many things can affect the natural levels and effectiveness of our hormones, including diet, stress, exposure to chemical agents, sleep quality, and proper structural function. Applied Kinesiology incorporates support for the major glands that produce and regulate hormones with muscle testing to determine the primary dysfunction. This is important so that the main problem can be treated, not something further down the line; for instance, if your thyroid is inhibited due to a pituitary dysfunction, it is optimal to treat the pituitary and support the thyroid with proper nutrition so it can heal itself. All of the major glands and organs have muscles that they have a relationship with, through common nerve supply, meridian distribution, lymphatic drainage, et cetera. It is very useful to test the strength of a muscle related to a gland or organ, for example the gastrocnemius which relates to the adrenals, and challenge with nutritional supplements or other medicinals to see what strengthens the weak muscle. Something widely regarded as beneficial for the adrenals will not benefit every person at every time, it is very useful to see what substance the body responds to best.
