Ankle and knee alignment issues

Correcting stiff or collapsed ankles is a big part of treatment here for optimal posture, gait and spinal alignment. Whether an ankle injury is fresh or old it is important to correct ligament and tendon strain, along with adjusting the ankle and foot. The same can be done for the knees. Ligament and muscle strain, as well as meniscus pain can be resolved with focused treatment of the soft tissue injury and adjusting the tibia, fibula and meniscus.

Remember chemistry class (for those of you who ever took chemistry.)

In chemistry lab, you have to do a lot of number-y conversions and transformation of substances into other substances. You do a lot of titration, which is mixing two substances by using a dropper, or pipette, to add one drop into another to facilitate a chemical reaction, creating a new different substance. It will not convert into the new substance until exactly the sufficient number of drops are added. When that happens, the desired chemical reaction occurs and the mixture instantly changes. It is usually demonstrated in lab class by a brightly colored chemical change, so that you know you've succeeded.
When you are introducing healing modalities to your body and mind, the change that happens can be delayed until just the right moment, when a dramatic shift occurs and you have a whole different posture/stance/attitude/pH/microorganism count/blood chemistry. Don't forget this.

Nutrition Response Testing is a muscle-testing system used to determine the exact nutritional program that will optimize a person's health, and permit them to obtain excellent and permanent good results from chiropractic adjustments. This is something new I will be practicing at Belmont Street, and it is very exciting.

Seasonal Changes Test Your Adaptability

Now that it is getting dark earlier and the frost is on the pumpkin, you may be experiencing an energy shift, as in, "I have no energy." Perhaps you are fighting off a cold already, or you have come down with something. Know this: the change of seasons will expose your constitutional weaknesses. The THYROID is the gland of temperature adaptation, and if yours is struggling, it will let you know this time of year. Also SPLEEN is an important organ of the immune system, and it is very sensitive to cold and damp conditions. It struggles when you are exposed to mold and mildew in your living space. It wants you to move to Palm Springs. Also, it is sensitive to sugar. The holidays of Sugar (Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas) wreck your spleen, it's begging you to have a nice bowl of low-carb chicken soup. It would also like a T12 spinal adjustment.

Balancing Hormones in Menopausal Women Continued...

One thing I see in practice and in our community at large is gall bladder congestion in women and men that results in abdominal gas, pain and bloating, as well as headaches, migraines, and diarrhea. If left to continue untreated it will lead to blood lipid imbalances and malnutrition from impaired fat digestion. The gall bladder was mentioned and discussed frequently throughout Dr. Lang's class, and she teaches that estrogen dominance in women and men is responsible for this common problem.

Balancing Hormones in Menopausal Women

I have just completed my first class with Dr. Janet Lang, 12 hours over this weekend. The topic is extensive and the material is advanced and very challenging, but it was very well organized and extremely interesting and useful. She is an expert in the management of male and female hormone imbalance, and also an excellent teacher. She advocates using one certain laboratory testing facility that does saliva testing to measure all the endocrine hormones, Diagnos-Techs. She thinks they are very accurate with respect to their reference ranges, or what "normal" is. It is impossible to accurately manage hormone balance with blood testing because those blood and serum tests only measure inactive or "bound" hormone. She is very cautious and exact when using bio-identical hormones (very fashionable right now with the anti-aging set) and accurate testing provides more accurate application.
I learned so much! All about hysterectomies and why using progesterone cream is BAD and why you should be very wary of routine mammograms and microwave ovens.
I will write more about this. Here is Dr. Lang's website:
www.restorativeendocrinology.com
